FA, SP. Candidates learn how to teach engaging literacy lessons and design instructional strategies that support students in becoming skillful and engaged readers and writers across subject areas. Candidates further develop their understanding of creating equitable classroom cultures; their capacity to design literacy programs that reflect their knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and instruction; and their knowledge, skill, and commitment to equitable and justice-oriented practices. Prerequisite(s): EDUC 103, EDUC 115, EDUC 215, EDUC 240, EDUC 241, and EDUC 243. Corequisite(s): EDUC 350, MATH 324, and SCES 310. Not offered in 2023-24.
