Chemistry Major, BA
|
|
Calvin’s bachelor of arts in chemistry is intended for students who anticipate careers that would benefit from a strong background in chemistry. Chemistry students at Calvin explore how to think about the world from a chemical perspective and how to use chemical knowledge as they engage the world. The BA degree in chemistry provides a rigorous education in chemical concepts while giving students flexibility to specialize in additional disciplines or to obtain clinical volunteer experience. The BA program is designed to pair well with an additional major. It may also be a good fit for students with pre-medicine, pre-pharmacy, pre-dental, and other pre-health professional interests, who could pair it with internship or clinical experience. The BA in chemistry will help equip students in areas such as
- neuroscience (double major in psychology);
- consulting or pharmaceuticals (double major in business);
- international development studies;
- journalism (double major in English);
- art restoration or scientific illustration (double major in art);
- data modeling or information management (double major in computer science); and
- policy or politics (double major in political science).
