IDIS 291 - Understanding Institutional Racism and Racial Internalization (1) This class builds upon the concepts learned in IDIS 190 with the John M. Perkins Leadership Fellows. The students will deepen their understanding of institutional, cultural and internalized racism, the church’s role and the way it persists today. Further, students will explore ways to dismantle institutional racism in working toward the Beloved Community and Shalom. They will also be invited to engage in the redemptive practice of caucusing to address misshapen internalized racial identities.
