FA, alternate years. In this course, students will investigate a variety of contemporary topics and challenges within the field of biology. Students will learn foundational biological concepts, develop and appreciation for the investigatory process of science as a value-laden collaborative enterprise, explore the reliability of scientific knowledge, and consider social and ethical aspects of scientific methodologies and findings. This course is a part of the Honors Scholars Core curriculum. Prerequisite(s): HNRS 103.
