PSYC 344 - Neuropsychology

SP. This course will introduce students to the theory and practice of clinical neuropsychology. This specialized subfield of clinical psychology focuses on the intersection of the nervous system and its impact on cognitive, behavioral and emotional functioning, with an applied emphasis on assessment and intervention. Students will gain an understanding of the field through a review of adult and pediatric cognitive and neurological disorders, hands-on practice with neuropsychological assessment tools, review of clinical cases, and field trips and guest speakers. An introductory background in neuroscience is required. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 151  and one of the following: PSYC 244 PSYC 343 BIOL 115 BIOL 205 BIOL 206 BIOL 231 .
