BIOL 331 - Comparative Animal and Human Physiology

FA. A study of the mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions of animals and human beings. Using basic cell and tissue activities as a starting point, this course considers how the various organs and organ systems operate to provide ways of getting, distributing, and utilizing nutrients; excreting waste; maintaining a near constant internal environment despite changes in the external environment; providing movement; allowing both rapid and slower communications between and among these systems; and reproducing the organism. Credit cannot be applied toward a biology major for both BIOL 206  and BIOL 331. Prerequisites:BIOL 141  or BIOL 161 BIOL 206  or BIOL 230 . Lab fee: $70.
