ENGR 351 - Process Safety (1) FA. This course involves the study of chemical process safety as it is applied in the various process industries which include chemical, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical production. Topics to be covered include the following: toxicology, industrial hygiene, fire and explosion prevention, introduction to relief valves, and hazards identification assessment (HAZID). Case Studies will be used to illustrate process safety analysis and improvement methods. Prerequisites: ENGR 331 and ENGR 335, or departmental approval.
