STGH 211 - Christianity in West Africa: A Ghanaian Perspective

FA. A multi-disciplinary course taught in partnership with Akrofi Christaller Institute, this class will expose students to the richness of Ghanaian history, culture, and religion. Special emphasis will be placed on understanding the history of various Christian groups (mainline, charismatic, or traditional) in Ghana, where a majority of citizens profess to be Christians. The first half of the course will be spent at the Akrofi Christaller Institute located in Akropong, Ghana. The second half will involve trips to the Gold Coast, Kumasi and Tamale. Not offered 2021-2022.
