ENGR 306 - Principles of Environmental Engineering (4) FA. A study of environmental engineering and science principles relevant to engineered and natural systems. Topics considered in this course include an overview of the domains of environmental engineering, relevant units of measurement, population dynamics, contaminant types, sources and presence, chemical stoichiometry, equilibria, and kinetics, mass and energy balances, mass/particle transport processes, microbial ecosystem structure and function, biogeochemical cycling, and oxygen demand. Prerequisite: ENGR 209 or permission of the instructor.
