Application of principles of mechanics to the solution of problems in stress and strain of engineering materials, including resistance to force, bending, torque, shear, eccentric load, deflection of beams, buckling of columns, compounding of simple stresses, introduction to theory of failure, and energy methods. Prerequisites: ENGR 205 and ENGR 202. Corequisite: MATH 231.
