Semester in Hungary (STHU)

The Semester in Hungary takes place in Budapest, Hungary, every fall semester. Students live in the dorms of Karoli Gaspar Reformed University and take up to two direct-enrolled classes in English at either Karoli Gaspar University or Corvinus University. In addition, students take several classes from the Calvin director as well as Hungarian instructors hired directly by Calvin University. The academic components of the program include the following:

Program Requirements

STHU 100 - Introduction to the Hungarian Language
STHU 210 - Studies in Central European Culture
STHU 250 - Disciplinary course offered by the program director
STHU 310 - Hungary Semester Practicum
one direct-enroll course at Karoli Gaspar University (3 semester hours)

Students Can Take One Additional Class from the Following

STHU 235 - Italian Renaissance Art
a second class from Karoli Gaspar University or a class at Corvinus University (3 semester hours)
