The criminology program offers an interdisciplinary major designed for students who are interested in the theories, context, and practice necessary to understand issues of crime, deterrence, corrections, punishment, and justice.
In addition to the required courses, students also complete the specified credits in each of the five areas of competency: methods, social justice, US criminal justice, human behavior, and communication. These courses should be chosen from at least three different departments (e.g., Politics, Psychology, Sociology). A minimum of 22 semester hours are required to fulfill this portion of the criminology major.
