English Major: General Concentration, BA

The English department offers an English major with four concentrations—linguistics, literature, writing, and general English studies—that effectively anchors student learning in the integrated art, craft, and science of language. The major provides students a richly faceted set of skills with which to engage story, practice interpretation, and experience the cultural and historical diversity of language and literature. It also provides excellent preparation for a multitude of vocations that require strong communication and analytical skills (writing, editing, library science, business, law, ministry, public relations, teaching, and more).
