Finance is the study of how companies obtain funds needed for future growth and how people invest funds for future consumption. It includes business finance and personal finance. Finance deals with the concepts of time, cash flows, and risk, and how they are interrelated. It also deals with how resources are spent and budgeted. Finance is about the methods and the prices at which financial resources are exchanged, and about how this exchange impacts the decisions companies and individuals make.
For entry into 300-level courses in the finance major, students must have earned a C or better in BUS 201 , ACCT 203 , and ACCT 204 .
