The English department offers coursework in linguistics, literature, and writing—the art, craft, and science of language. Students minoring in literature focus primarily on story, poetry, and/or drama—on the ways language shapes and reflects human experience.

Program Requirements
- ENGL 290 - Ways of Reading
- sixteen hours of English literature courses (ENGL 200-235, 300-335), of which at least eight hours must be 300 level
