Social Work Minor

Program Requirements

• PSYC 151 - Introductory Psychology: Perspectives on the Self

• OR SOC 151 - Sociological Principles and Perspectives  

• SOWK 240 - Introduction to Social Work and Social Welfare
• SOWK 250 - Diversity and Inequality in the United States

• OR SOWK 260 - Global Issues and Perspectives 

• an additional 12 hours of social work courses, with at least two social work courses at the 300 level; one SOC elective may be included. (SOWK 240  is a prerequisite for all 300-level social work courses. All other prerequisites listed for social work major courses are waived for minor completion, although course sequencing following prerequisites is encouraged.)
