Operations and Supply Chain Management, BS

People working in operations and supply chain are concerned with designing, overseeing, and controlling how goods and services are produced, allocated and distributed. They manage the process that converts inputs (in the forms of material, labor, and energy) into outputs (in the form of goods and services). People in this field are typically team-oriented individuals who have an interest in manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or retail careers. They ensure a business’s operations are both efficient and effective and promote wise and sustainable stewardship of God-given resources.

The Bachelor of Science in Operations and Supply Chain Management will be a cohort program set to begin during the second semester of a student’s junior year at Calvin. This will enable an intentional pedagogical approach aimed not only at ensuring students have basic operations and supply chain management skills but also that they can build upon the courses for critical and strategic thinking and that they can grow in their understanding of how to think deeply, act justly, and live wholeheartedly as Christ’s agents of renewal in these key business areas.

For entry into 300-level courses in the operations and supply chain management major, students must achieve at least a C in BUS 101 , BUS 201 , and ACCT 203 .
