Economics Major, BS

Economics majors succeed in a wide variety of careers, including business, finance, law, nonprofits, politics, and international relations. The coursework in the economics major leads to a Bachelor of Science degree and prepares students for a variety of academic roles. Students learn to synthesize large amounts of information and to think logically. Students gain high-demand skills in problem-solving and communication.

Students may also work toward a minor in economics. An economics minor complements a variety of student interests. Courses can be combined in the minor to specifically complement the majors in business, or teacher education, or data analytics. Economics courses fulfill the Social and Behavioral Science core category, and several economics courses have core tags of Environmental Sustainability or Global Regions and Cultures.

Prerequisite for admission to the economics major or minor is a minimum grade of B (3.0) in ECON 221 .
