The Data Science program prepares students to be “Big Data” practitioners by learning how to distill new insights from large volumes of data. The program is an interdisciplinary mix of Computer Science, Data Science, and Mathematics and Statistics, plus a domain area (chosen by the student) in which the student can apply his or her computational and statistical skills.

Choose at least three courses. MATH/STAT Electives
Choose at least one course. Cognate Tracks
(15 semester hours) At least 15 semester hours, normally with the same course prefix (e.g., BIOL, BUS, GEO, POLS, etc.) other than CS, DATA, MATH, or STAT. At least 6 hours of these must be at the 300 level or an approved combination. See the program website (datascience.calvin.edu) for a list of approved tracks.
