Environmental Science Major: Naturalist Track, BS

The environmental science major prepares students to be Christ’s agents of renewal by working as stewards of God’s good creation. Graduates of this program are prepared for entry-level jobs in a variety of environmental fields, including land and resource management and environmental consulting, and they are prepared for graduate study in applied, interdisciplinary science programs, such as natural resource management. Students take a set of common courses and choose either the Natural Sciences track or the Naturalist track.

Two From
(Must include at least one science course and at least one 300-level course. Students who want to incorporate professional naturalist training into their program are encouraged to work at the Calvin College Ecosystem Preserve and to do the Au Sable Institute’s Environmental Leadership Intensive.)
Cognate
Students must take one mathematics or statistics course as a cognate. Additional mathematics or statistics courses may be taken as electives in the major.
