Environmental Science Major: Natural Resources Track

The environmental science major prepares students to be Christ’s agents of renewal by working as stewards of God’s good creation. Graduates of this program are prepared for entry-level jobs in a variety of environmental fields, including land and resource management and environmental consulting, and they are prepared for graduate study in applied, interdisciplinary science programs, such as natural resource management. Students take a set of common courses and choose either the Natural Resources track or the Naturalist track .

Two from
Elective courses must include enough credits to meet the minimum of 58 credit hours in math and science to earn a BS. (Students interested in professional work in hydrology are strongly encouraged to take summer Hydrogeology Field Courses available elsewhere and transfer the credit to Calvin as an elective.
Cognate
Students must take one mathematics or statistics course as a cognate. Additional mathematics or statistics courses may be taken as electives in the major.
