The Semester in Spain (Core) takes place in Oviedo, Spain every other fall semester in partnership with the Universidad de Oviedo. Students live with Spanish families in Oviedo. The emphasis of this semester program is assisting students in fulfilling Calvin’s foreign language core requirement and/or intermediate and advanced Spanish majors/minors who want to pursue a full academic year abroad.

Program Requirements
All participants must take a minimum of 11 hours of Spanish language at the appropriate level. Students have the option of taking language and/or culture classes at the Casa de las Lenguas and interested students may also enroll in one class taught in English at the University of Oviedo. All students are required to take STSP 215 - Engaging Spanish Culture .
