Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Catalog Search

The neuroscience concentration in psychology seeks to provide students with an interdisciplinary understanding of neuroscience, giving them a deep understanding of the biological sciences and integrating this knowledge with diverse subject areas such as psychology, chemistry/biochemistry, physics, computer science, and philosophy. This training prepares students for graduate school in neuroscience and professional fields (e.g., medicine, dentistry, clinical psychology, veterinary medicine, physical therapy), as well as careers in biotechnology firms, government laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, education, law, and business. Students desiring greater focus on biological, chemical or physical aspects of neuroscience should consider the neuroscience concentrations offered through the Chemistry and Biology Departments. Students considering the neuroscience concentration within Psychology should contact P. Moes or E. Helder for additional advising. See also the model four-year plan associated with this concentration in the department handbook (available in the Psychology office) and posted on the department website.

Total Semester Hours: 42-45
