Integrated Science Studies Major: Secondary Education
|
|
Return to: Academic Departments and Degrees
There are two programs in this area: the regular integrated science major and the “comprehensive” major.
The program for the regular integrated science major, plus a minor in a science discipline (biology, chemistry, Earth/space science, or physics), is the recommended program for most students. Courses in a student’s disciplinary minor often overlap with the courses required for the integrated science studies major. When they do not, students should take the sequence of courses listed for their minor, as opposed to the corresponding three courses listed in the major.
Students completing the “comprehensive” major are not required to complete an additional minor area of study for certification - this option is not recommended for most students.
