Social Work Minor

Program Requirements

All students take:

PSYC 151 - Introductory Psychology: Perspectives on the Self OR
SOC 151 - Sociological Principles and Perspectives
SOWK 240 - Introduction to Social Work and Social Welfare
SOWK 250 - Diversity and Inequality in the United States OR
SOWK 260 - Global Issues and Perspectives

Note:

Three other courses, with at least two social work courses at the 300-level; one sociology elective may be included in the minor. SOWK 240 is a prerequisite for all 300-level social work courses. All other prerequisites listed for social work major courses are waived for minor completion, although course sequencing following prerequisites is encouraged.
