The department has structured its major areas of study so that students may design programs that best prepare them for their chosen careers.
The department offers study in the primary fields of business as follows:
- Accounting : a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA), a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) with a concentration in Global Management Accounting, and a Master of Accounting (MAcc)
- Business: a Bachelor of Arts in Business with the opportunity to select a concentration of study in one of the following areas:
- Entrepreneurship: a concentration within the Bachelor of Arts in Business
- Finance: a concentration within the Bachelor of Arts in Business
- Human Resources: a concentration within the Bachelor of Arts in Business
- Marketing: a concentration within the Bachelor of Arts in Business
- Operations Management: a concentration within the Bachelor of Arts in Business
In conjunction with other departments, the business department offers the following majors:
Experiential learning is encouraged and there are many opportunities that can be included in any of the department’s majors.
Honors work is encouraged in any department course by arrangement with the professor for the course. An introductory honors course in business foundations is offered. To graduate with honors in business, discuss the requirements with the department chair or a business academic advisor.
