FA, SP, as needed. Designed to be paired with another 2-semester-hour HNRS course, this course will investigate a variety of contemporary topics and challenges within the fields of physics and/or astronomy using an interdisciplinary lens. Students will learn foundational physical science concepts, develop an appreciation for the investigatory process of science as a value-laden collaborative enterprise, explore the reliability of scientific knowledge, and consider social and ethical aspects of scientific methodologies and findings. Prerequisite(s): HNRS 103.
