FA, SP, as needed. Designed to be paired with another 2-semester-hour HNRS course, this course will address communication practices as problem-solving forms embedded within social contexts. While topics will vary from year to year, all iterations will pay particular attention to the modes—that is, the styles or postures—that circulate across the attention economies of modern societies, from digital platforms to everyday physical spaces. The interdisciplinary component will attend to how communication practices and modes are structured by conversations in other disciplines. Prerequisite(s): HNRS 103.
