CHEM 373 - Elements in Transition

(1.5)
FA. The d-orbitals dominate the chemistry of the transition metals. Though limited in abundance, these elements with their special electronic structure can be found all over the planet and used in nature and by humans to do everything from catalyzing functional reactions to forming exquisite structures. Students in this course will go deeper into various aspects of metal chemistry. Areas for exploration are supramolecular chemistry, coordination chemistry, organometallic chemistry, materials science, and metals in biological systems and processes. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 230 . Corequisite(s): CHEM 373L .
