FA, SP, alternate years. This course provides students with a framework for understanding the Contemporary art scene. Structured around questions and themes, the course explores how artists of the past sixty years have understood the relationship of the visual arts to wider societal conversations. Issues of materiality, concept, point of view, audience, and venue will play a prominent role in the exploration of what it means to be a maker today.
