RFLA 131 - Moving Out on Your Own (4) SP, every fourth year. Students will explore personal priorities that impact choosing a place to live as well as solve common, real-world problems that may arise while living on their own. They will develop skills and tools needed for independent living, including planning a weekly menu, shopping for groceries, preparing healthy meals based on a budget, caring for personal clothing, and purchasing new clothes. They will learn common cooking vocabulary and apply these to their daily meal preparation. They will practice skills needed to maintain their home and make it a place that is safe, functional, and comfortable. Prerequisite(s): admission to the Life and Career Studies program or permission from the dean of education.
