This course prepares students to serve as pastors or mentors within the context of the faith community. Special consideration is given to the settings in which pastors and mentors engage in helping relationships, the need for appropriate boundaries to protect the dignity of both those seeking counsel and those offering to help them, and the place of helping relationships in the broader horizon of institutions and communities beyond the pastoral context. Prerequisite(s): ML 221.
