SPAUD 343 - Principles of Communication Neuroscience (4) FA.
This course provides a thorough understanding of nervous system anatomy and physiology as it relates to speech, language, swallowing, and hearing. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the central and peripheral nervous systems, including the brain, spinal cord, cranial nerves, and neural pathways. Emphasis will be placed on the neuroanatomical foundations of communication disorders, with practical applications for diagnosis and treatment. Students will be given rhetorical instruction related to professional writing and the writing process in communication sciences and disorders.
Prerequisite(s): SPAUD 101 , SPAUD 210 ,SPAUD 212 , and SPAUD 216 .
