SP, alternate years. Special relativity is reformulated in terms of 4-vectors and this new understanding is used to explicitly articulate the relativistic nature of Maxwell’s equations. An introductory understanding of special relativity is assumed. Prerequisite(s): PHYS 237. Corequisite(s): PHYS 346.
