FA. Work with young children requires specialized knowledge of the field of early childhood education. This course will equip students with knowledge and skills for developmentally appropriate practice for young children, including culturally responsive perspectives and pedagogical strategies addressing the importance of play in learning, social-emotional development, early literacy, and early mathematics. Ten hours of observation in a preschool setting will be required. Prerequisite(s): EDUC 103 (may be taken concurrently).
