FA. This course examines the theory and practice of persuasive communication. Topics include persuasion theory and research; ethics of persuasion; recognizing, employing, and resisting persuasive strategies; and the role of propaganda in society.  Examples for analysis are taken from religion, advertising, political campaigns, social movements, and democratic and totalitarian propaganda.
