IDIS 108 - Fundamentals of Patient Care (2) WI, SU, depending on on-campus residential arrangements.. This class reviews the basics of patient caregiving and will prepare learners to take the CNA certification test if desired. This intensive course will consist of a minimum of 75 hours of combined classroom, laboratory, and clinical hours. Relational competencies along with the clinical skills mastered will develop skilled providers of personal care in a geriatric setting. The classroom instruction taught from a Reformed perspective will be integrated with a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care during the clinical time at Holland Home. Prerequisite(s): required immunizations, TB test, background checks, and drug screening through Castle Branch. Course fee (effective summer 2025): $120. Students are encouraged to punchased a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, and scrubs. Not offered in 2024-25.
