CHEM 372 - Molecules in the Spotlight: Nanoparticles

FA. This course will introduce students to nanomaterials with a special focus on the synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles. Various applications of nanoparticles from cosmetics to targeted drug delivery in medicine to their potential toxicity will be introduced. A particular focus will be placed on understanding instrumental methods used to characterize the physical and chemical properties of nanoparticles with a special emphasis on using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 210. Corequisite(s): CHEM 372L.
