FA. A discussion of economics with detailed focus on energy and sustainability issues. Students will explore interactions among economic, social, natural, and technological systems through the lens of sustainability; including global energy resource scarcity and historical patterns of economic growth and how they impact individuals and society through local and global economic systems. Topics include definitions of sustainability, economic systems, and energy markets: energy production and consumption systems, Biblical and ethical perspectives on consumption and production of goods and energy, and efficiency and equity of resource allocation.
