CHEM 241 - Organic Chemistry I (3) FA. A detailed study of organic compounds, their synthesis, and reactions, presented within the framework of modern physicochemical theory, together with an introduction to modern methods of analysis and identification. Majors and minors enrolling in this course must also take CHEM 242 . Highly recommended for 2nd-year students, and not open to seniors except by permission. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 102 or CHEM 103 with a grade of C or better, or approval of the instructor. Corequisite(s): CHEM 241L .
