BIOL 323 - Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy (3) SP, alternate years. This course examines the structure of organ systems in a wide array of vertebrates (including humans) and the functional significance of anatomical differences. Variations in the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, respiratory, digestive, circulatory, urogenital, endocrine, and nervous systems are explored in a phylogenetic framework with some discussion of histology and developmental biology. Credit cannot be applied toward a biology major for both BIOL 205 and BIOL 323. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 160 . Corequisite(s): BIOL 323L .
