FA. This lab involves the study of chemical process safety as it is applied in the various process industries which include chemical, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical production, as well as experiments illustrating chemical engineering principles and thermodynamic. Topics to be covered include the following: toxicology, industrial hygiene, fire and explosion prevention, introduction to relief valves, and hazards identification assessment (HAZID). Case studies will be used to illustrate process safety analysis and improvement methods. Prerequisite(s): ENGR 209. Corequisite(s): ENGR 303.
