FA. A study of computer organization (including memory hierarchy, I/O, bus-based systems, distributed systems, and parallel systems), and computer architecture (including CPU control, pipelining, and instruction set architecture). Laboratory exercises emphasize principles. Prerequisite(s): a programming language course (normally CS 104, CS 106, or CS 108 ) or permission of the instructor. Corequisite(s): ENGR 220.
