FA, alternate years. ARTH 131 introduces some of the most notable paintings, prints, and sculpture produced in Europe from the Renaissance to 1700. The course considers how artistic styles and genres served societal and cultural priorities. Artists include the very famous and the less famous. Not offered in 2023-24.
