SOC 355 - Social Research

FA, SP. Students develop an understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods in the social sciences. In collaboration with community partners, students conduct a research project by describing a social issue and developing a research question, conducting a literature review, selecting appropriate methods, collecting and analyzing data, and communicating results through a research report and presentation to a vested community audience. Students consider implications of social research findings for practice and policy. Through the course, students develop an awareness of the importance of social science research is understanding ourselves and the world around us. Crosslisted as SOWK 355 . Prerequisite(s): SOC 255  or (with permission of the instructor) STAT 143 .
