ENTR 391 - Ethnography and Qualitative Methods

SP. This course introduces students to a sociological perspective on everyday social settings by applying methods of systematic, qualitative observation. Training includes ethnographic research methodologies designed to equip students to collect and analyze data. Topics include issues of access, rapport, participant observation, field notes, ethics, interviewing, coding, and analysis. This course is cross-listed as SOC 265 ; students wishing to take ethnography for credit in a sociology degree will need to enroll in SOC 265 . Prerequisite: ENTR 201 .
