EDUC 399 - Enduring Questions and Current Challenges in Education (3) FA, SP. Students are invited into an interdisciplinary analysis of the enduring question: What ought to be the purpose of education in contemporary society? This analysis involves appraisals of the deep assumptions, current challenges, and social contexts shaping the understandings of schooling as a social institution and education as a professional practice. Throughout the course, students are developing their own faith-based answer to the question of what ought to be education’s purpose. Prerequisite: IDIS 205 .
