ECON 343 - Applied Econometrics

SP, SU. Students apply quantitative analysis such as regression and time series analysis to applications in economic, political, and business analytics. Students evaluate the quality of available information, develop defensible models, and discuss the implications of analytical results for the applicable question. Students conduct original research and critically evaluate published empirical research. Students use a popular statistical package to make and evaluate truth claims. Students articulate how a Christian worldview informs the choice of analytical questions and how to use empirical analysis to inform economic or political policies and business decisions. Prerequisite: STAT 243, STAT 245, STAT 343, POLS 253, SOC 255, or PSYC 255, or permission of the instructor.
