BIOL 250 - Research Design and Methodology (4) SP. A combination of field, greenhouse, and laboratory studies designed to familiarize students with research at both the cellular and ecological levels of organization. The course emphasis emphasizes framing research questions, experimental design and data interpretation with reference to the published literature, and communication of scientific data. Under faculty direction, student teams develop their own research projects and present the results of their work in written and oral reports. Social, ethical, and religious implications of the results of research are explored. Two three-hour sessions per week. Prerequisites: BIOL 160 ; BIOL 141 or BIOL 161 ; STAT 143 or STAT 145 . Corequisite: BIOL 295 . Lab fee: $70.
