Types of compounds discussed include ionic solids, cage compounds, organometallic compounds, coordination compounds, and bioinorganic compounds. Electronic and magnetic characteristics are studied in depth. A significant component of the course involves studying advances in inorganic chemistry from peer-reviewed literature. Prerequisite: CHEM 230 , and CHEM 240 or CHEM 241 . Corequisite: CHEM 330L . Students completing a BA in chemistry or biochemistry may elect to take this course without completing CHEM 330L .
